Strategic Objectives

Movement Priorities and Goals

In the current context, our priorities are to:

  • Strengthen networks and trust across the solidarity economy and systems change movements, particularly centering leadership from Southern, Black, Indigenous, and marginalized communities globally.
  • Enrich and expand our movements, making them irresistible by fostering broad alignment around systemic change. Build alliances that overcome fragmentation, moving together on common ground to scale movements toward transformative change.
  • Deepen our collective vision and strategies for liberation from the interlocking systems of oppression, extraction, and domination. This includes cultivating shared strategies to address capitalist exploitation, colonialism, ecological harm, and inequality, with the ultimate goal of achieving systemic transformation.
  • Draw from the visionary traditions of BIPOC and other oppressed and exploited peoples to fight for freedom, create community-driven solutions, and reconnect with the land and nonhuman kin, which offer essential inspiration for building the regenerative, just futures we seek.
  • Foster a joyful, regenerative culture that embodies the values of justice, interdependence, and ecological restoration, emphasizing care, mutual aid, and collective healing. Draw insights from feminisms, disability justice, and solidarity frameworks to prioritize ongoing individual and collective well-being.

Collaborative Planning Approach

A joint effort between the local host circle, national Backbone Circle, and Summit Planning Circle focusing on key collaboration areas:

  • Venue selection and logistics
  • Local outreach and attendee engagement
  • Program development
  • Volunteer and vendor coordination
